What is included in the 3-day orangutan trek?
The 3-day trek includes local guiding, park permits, jungle meals, two nights of simple riverside camp setup, orangutan tracking, and tube rafting back toward Bukit Lawang.
Dive deep into the primary rainforest of Gunung Leuser National Park. This immersive three-day journey is designed for travelers seeking orangutan encounters, local guiding, riverside camping, and evenings under the jungle canopy.

After breakfast, we depart from the village edge and plunge straight into the dense primary forest. The morning is dedicated to spotting semi-wild and wild orangutans near the feeding platform area before trekking deeper into untouched territory.
Waking up to the sounds of gibbons, we venture further into areas rarely visited by shorter treks. We navigate steeper terrain, learning about medicinal plants, and tracing animal tracks. Lunch is served by a hidden waterfall before reaching our second riverside camp.
A relaxed morning exploring the area around the camp, looking for hornbills and monitor lizards. After a final jungle lunch, we pack up and ride traditional tube rafts down the Bohorok River back to Bukit Lawang.
